Türk Dostlarım’a

A labdarúgás a világ legnépszerűbb sportja, nagy érzelmeket kavar, ami alól én sem vagyok kivétel.

(My own translation to English below)
My Turkish friends!
Today’s game was a great honor, specially regarding the fans, and I send my greetings to the Turkish national team in Budapest. Football is the most popular sport in the world, which brings a large stir of emotions to people. But I have feelings that are even more important. Relatives, I’ve heard respect, love and friendship in Turan nations. It was a big match, but the Hungarian fans had such a friendly gesture, and that I find to be very meaningful. This is particularly significant in today’s world which is full of hostility and competition, and yet a great event was made. I’m grateful for it.
I hope that this message reaches as many Turkish people as possible. I hope the news reaches to them that here in Hungary there is a power, the country’s second and third largest political party, which is regarded as an ally of all nations who claim to be the grandsons of Attila. We are, and so are the Turks as well. Throughout history, many of us may have experienced war, spilling the blood of each other, but in spite of everything, we worship the same God and we are brothers: children of Turan. I hope that the young people growing up in Turkey, which should lead the country to become a great power, will hear the voice, for the grandchildren of Atilla, today’s descendants of the high-riders, to hold hands again.
All of us are grandsons of Attila!
That God may give us a better future!

Tūrān (Persian توران) is the Persian name for Central Asia, literally meaning “the land of the Tur“. As described below, the original Turanians are an Iranian tribe of the Avestan age. As a people the “Turanian” are one of the two Iranian peoples both descending from the PersianFereydun but with different domains and often at war with each other. In fact according to the Shahnameh‘s account, at least 1,500 years later after the Avesta, the nomadic tribes who inhabited these lands were ruled by Tūr, who was the emperor Fereydun‘s elder son. The association with Turks is also primarily based on the Shahnameh‘s geographical account where Turkification of Central Asia was partially completed during that time.
In the declining days of the Ottoman Empire, the word Turanian was adopted by some Turkish nationalists to express a pan-Turkic ideology, also called Turanism. Presently, Turanism forms an important aspect of the ideology of the Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), whose members are also known as Grey Wolves.
