Money Making Technology
I will coin a new term for IT, Information Technology – Money Making Technology.
So IT becomes MMT.
The whole of IT jumped from information, to cowboys trying to make the most money in the less time possible, it basically became the synthesis of ultra-capitalism; because the ultra-capitalists took over it is not Information Technology anymore, it is Money Making Technology. A vital and integral part of any Corporatocrat system.
A corporatocracy is a situation in which corporate bodies interact with sovereign power in an unhealthy alignment between business and political power. In a corporatocracy an elite upper-class, maintains ties between business and government, sometimes by lobbying efforts or funding political advertising campaigns, or providing bailouts when corporations are seen as too big to fail, for the purpose of controlling government and dictating policy to serve its financial interests.
Most FOSS/FLOSS projects are trying to push in the wrong direction anyway, a copy of an ultra-capitalist venture is just that really, a copy of an ultra-capitalist venture.

Free and open-source software (F/OSS, FOSS) or free/libre/open-source software (FLOSS) is software that is both free software and open source. It is liberally licensed to grant users the right to use, copy, study, change, and improve its design through the availability of its source code. This approach has gained both momentum and acceptance as the potential benefits have been increasingly recognized by both individuals and corporations.
If IT is ever to become what it originally stands for, Information, it will need to think outside the box, and think about flow of information with no money involved, while prioritizing quality over time to deliver.
In commerce, time to market (TTM) is the length of time it takes from a product being conceived until its being available for sale. TTM is important in industries where products are outmoded quickly. A common assumption is that TTM matters most for first-of-a-kind products, but actually the leader often has the luxury of time, while the clock is clearly running for the followers.
The excuse that capital, vast amounts of money, is what made IT‘s evolution is far from valid.
Visual is primarily marketing, and marketing is nothing more than people trying to convince other people to depart with their money.
If it was not for the visual, there would be no need for the expensive hardware we are forced to use today. Maybe for a server, but not for the personal hardware millions of people in private, public and personal spaces buy and upgrade as often as a “superior” version is released to the market.
And the quality would be improved as result, as software developers would have to use skill to fit the more in the less space, as they did back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, before the venture capitalists took the technology over and imposed the practice of throwing anything together in the shortest of the time, make it look good and/or like it does or could do something, in order to collect the most money in the shortest time (ie. while they still can, while the word is not out that it is nothing but marketed crap), and then depart to the next venture, no bother who is still having to (in most cases, daily) use that half put together buggy piece of software; or the damages incurring from the same.
The new version or new product will “always be better”, creating a false sense of evolution, a sense that simply shadows the fact that, in the end of the day, all they are doing is their best at selling marketed crap to get the biggest volume of people as possible to depart from their hard owned money.

Appeal to Justice under UDHR, CEDAW and Russian Constitution
Three alleged members of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot, Maria Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Ekaterina Samucevich, charged with “hooliganism”, have been remanded in jail, facing up to 7 years criminal punishment for allegedly participating in the punk-prayer Virgin Mary, Send Putin Away that publicly demonstrated for human rights and against the current oppressive regime under Putin. The case illustrates the gross level of violations against human rights in Russia and requires immediate attention. The detained activists now need the support of the world’s community.
“Pussy Riot” is an anonymous Russian Feminist Punk Band formed in October 2011. Through a series of peaceful performances in highly visible places, the band has given voice to basic rights under threat in Russia today, while expressing the values and principles of gender equality, democracy and freedom of expression contained in the Russian constitution and other international instruments, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the CEDAW Convention.

CHRONOLOGY OF THE CASE
• 21 February 2012. “Pussy Riot”, Russian Feminist Punk Band, performs a ‘punk-prayer’ with chorus”Virgin Mary, Become Feminist / Virgin Mary, Hash Putin Away” at the altar of the Christ the Savior cathedral in Moscow. The ‘prayer’ lasts for less than a minute after which the band-members are removed from the church by the guards.
• The same day a montaged video of the ‘punk-prayer’ is uploaded on the Youtube, going viral with over 600.000 views: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCasuaAczKY&feature=related
• In the following days Russian Orthodox Church initiates a criminal case against “Pussy Riot” legally incriminating the band with ‘hooliganism’ and maximum punishment of seven years incarceration . FSB Special Department on Terrorism takes on the case, while the Orthodox activists report the names of the alleged band-members on-line. Massive media/public smear-campaign against “blasphemous women” starts.
• 4 March 2012, the day of controversial presidential elections, two alleged band-members arrested: Maria Alyokhina (environmental activist) and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova (civil activist) are incarcerated in Moscow. Both women declare hunger-strike in protest and exercise their right to silence under 51 article of Russian Constitution
• In violation of law that permits maximum 48 hrs detention on suspicion, women are remanded in prison prior to incrimination of official charges and in the absence of sufficient evidence to file such charges. Case of “Pussy Riot” ranked as ‘of special importance’ assigned an investigating team of five, headed by lieutenant – colonel A. Radchenkov. www.freepussyriot.org is launched
• 14 March 2012, defense appeal on pre-trial incarceration rejected. Both suspects remanded in prison till final trial on 24 April 2012 ( detailed report on hearing ). Scuffle breaks out in front of the court: ( see Reuters )
• 15 March 2012, Ekaterina Samutsevic, previously witness in the case, arrested on suspicion and remanded in prison till 24 April 2012. The third arrestee exercises her right to silence. Nadezhda and Maria are officially incriminated with ‘hooliganism’.
• 19 March 2012, defense appeals for change of arrest measures against Ekaterina. All three women are reported, by defense, to be under illegal 24-hour video surveillance, while Maria and Nadezhda, both mothers, threaten by investigating team to lose their parental rights. Russian Orthodox Church, in its official statement calls authorities to take strictest possible measures against ‘blasphemous women’ and asks all sympathizing with arrested women Orthodoxes to join “Militant”/”Triumphant church of Russia.
• 28 March 2012, 14.10. Moscow City Court rejects an appeal on arrest of Ekaterina Samutsevich.
• 19 April 2012 Trial at Moscow City Court: Pre-Trial Arrest of Maria, Nadezhda and Ekaterina is extended till 24 June 2012, the day of the final trial

Israeli hi-tech mogul gets 22 years in US for fraud
Executive tricked associates of Vanguard nonprofit group into giving him approximately $31 million in investments.
SAN FRANCISCO – American- Israeli hi-tech executive Samuel “Mouli” Cohen received one of the harshest sentences ever meted out in a white-collar crime case on Monday, for having defrauded victims of approximately $31 million.
Found guilty on 29 of 35 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and tax evasion in November 2011, Cohen was sentenced in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California to 22 years in prison.
The fraud he perpetrated led to the collapse of the Vanguard Public Foundation, a privately funded non-profit civil rights and social justice organization with ties to actor Danny Glover and singer Harry Belafonte. Cohen was convicted of soliciting investments between 2002 and 2008 from 50 individuals, most of them associated with Vanguard, and falsely claiming that Microsoft was poised to acquire Ecast, the electronic jukebox company of which he was co-founder and CEO.
Cohen lied to investors, telling them that once Ecast was acquired, its shares would be exchanged on a 1-for-1 basis with Microsoft shares.
