I’ve just find this in VKontakte, it’s the first time I’ve ever heard about blaspheme (as in to speak impiously or irreverently of God/Allah/whatever someone decided to call its imaginary friend as, or sacred things) Muslim metal.

This black metal band hails from Iraq and seem to be engaged in a jihad against Islam. As you may know or not, Islam is the direct equivalent to conservative Catholicism (not that non-conservative Catholicism is any better). And as many heavy metal bands have been rebelling and attacking conservative Catholicism during the years, this one seems to be doing the exact same against Islam.

The title of the songs are hilarious though.

“Behind the horns of Allah”

I just couldn’t stop laughing, only made worse after I seen that one of the songs had been entitled “Sex with Muhammad’s corpse”. My understanding of the matter is that Seeds of Iblis are trying to offend the most conservative in order to break out of oppression, to say that the Holy is not Holy at all, in fact being pretty much the opposite – Holy is the Evil that the Islamists (just as the conservative Catholics) so much combat and live in fear of.

Basically all that they are really trying to say, rightly so, is that Islam is the wolf dressed up as sheep - the obvious – and I did really appreciate the way that they have sent the message across, even though we probably got the message instead of its real target audience; an audience that should consist mostly of young Arabic/Persian speakers rebelling against the oppression promoted by its patriarchal institution.
